Sam Hamburger
As the Principal of Parliament, Sam's responsibilities include establishing the vision and key initiatives for the firm, sourcing acquisition and development opportunities, and managing all aspects of the firm's day to day operations, including purchase agreement and lease negotiations, investor relations, and all necessary administrative functions.
Prior to founding Parliament, Sam spent almost 10 years at Bedrock Detroit, where he played an integral role in managing the acquisition of over 150 properties in downtown Detroit, Michigan and Cleveland, Ohio in almost all asset classes including office, multi-family, hospitality, parking and industrial.
Sam also had significant exposure into Bedrock's leasing and development initiatives, working closely with the CEO and directly with Bedrock co-founder, Dan Gilbert, on complex transactions and recruiting efforts that proved pivotal in bringing thousands of jobs and ancillary economic development to the City of Detroit. Sam also led Bedrock's leasing team in 2020, managing the team through the unique and unprecedented challenges that came as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, including the establishment of a comprehensive relief program meant to help Bedrock tenants overcome the hardships caused by lock downs and occupancy restrictions.
Sam was recognized as a Crain's Detroit Business "Twenty in their 20s" recipient in 2019, and a Detroit Young Professionals "Vanguard Award" recipient in 2018, which is a peer-selected award for young professionals excelling in their fields. Sam has always been active in the community, serving for several years as a board member at Detroit-based non-profit Give Merit, and as a supporter and donor to the Jewish Federation.
Sam is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) serving on the Small-Scale Development Council. He received his B.A. from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he majored in Organizational Studies with a concentration in strategy and leadership in organizations.
